Puerto Rico needs bankruptcy lawyer. Puerto Rico is a tropical paradise. Many go there for great vacations. Many from South Florida take the short trip there for a nice getaway. Puerto Rico does have its problems. Like many throughout South Florida, Puerto Rico has money problems. The paradise faces $73 billion in debt it cannot pay back. The U.S. territory has a problem. Unlike the fifty states in our country, Puerto Rico does not have the right to allow its municipalities to file for bankruptcy protection. Puerto Rican municipalities want to file a Chapter 9 bankruptcy case. Detroit filed a similar bankruptcy case to get back on track. Two candidates running for President have stepped up to the plate for Puerto Rico. Both Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton are backing the right of Puerto Rico to have the same bankruptcy rights as the rest of the country. There is a bill in Congress right now to give Puerto Rico this right. A bankruptcy filing can save the island from ruin. It has run into what many in Broward, Miami, and Palm Beach counties have run into. Debts that simply have no way of being paid back. Visiting a local bankruptcy lawyer is often the only way out. If Puerto Rico is able to restructure its debt, it can hopefully get back on the track to prosperity. With two political heavyweights behind the bill, the chances of passage certainly will increase. The island paradise is fighting for its survival. It is fighting for the rights many in Broward County and America already have. The right to a fresh start. The right to gain financial freedom. The right to see a bankruptcy lawyer that can help. Puerto Rico has been part of this country since 1898. It wants the same protection from the bankruptcy code available to others who need its help.
